Pressure vessels would generate residual stress during the manufacturing process,which would have a significant impact on their safety and performance.The various sources of residual stress in pressure vessel manufacturing and the techniques currently available for measuring these stresses had been explored.The three main sources of residual stress in the manufacturing process of pressure vessels included material processing,welding,and assembly.The techniques used for measuring residual stress were discussed,including X-ray diffraction,neutron diffraction,and drilling methods.Through discussion,our understanding of residual stresses in the manufacturing process of pressure vessels had been deepened,leading to improvements in design and manufacturing processes,ultimately enhancing the safety and performance of these critical components.
