摘要
语言离不开文化,译者的主体性在翻译活动过程中,不光是简单的两种语言转换,而是两种文化的交流和协商。有调查研究表明,在华旅行时,有约三分之二的受访者认为公示语对于旅游及了解城市有很大的辅助度。本文以功能翻译理论为指导,从语言维、交际维和文化维的适应性选择转换对公示语汉英翻译进行探究,主要是在文化视角分析翻译者在翻译过程中如何发挥主体性。文章以抚州市为例,希望研究对推介地方旅游资源、培育其旅游增长点可以发挥一点作用,也希望本研究能给其它想引进国际游客的城市带来一些有关旅游公示语翻译的借鉴作用。
Language cannot be separated from culture,and the translator’s subjectivity in the process of translation is not only a simple conversion of two languages,but also the communication and negotiation between two cultures.A survey shows that when traveling in China,about two-thirds of the respondents believe that public signs are very helpful to travel and understand the city.Guided by functional translation theory,this paper explores the Chinese-English translation of public signs from the perspectives of linguistic,communicative and cultural dimensions,and analyzes how translators exert their subjectivity in the translation process from a cultural perspective.
