On the Difference Between the Critical Views on National Character by LU Hsun and LIN Yutang

通过对中国现代文学中关于国民性问题的两种具有代表性的观点———鲁迅的改造国民性思想和林语堂的《中国人》进行简略分析 ,就他们在国民性批判问题上的立场、价值取向、具体观点等方面的差异作比较 。

The author makes a brief analysis and comparison between the two typic al critical views on national character in modern literature of China, i.e., the thought of rebuilding Chinese national character of LU Hsun and the views of LI N Yutang as presented in his book \%My Country and My People\%. The article comp ares and analyzes the two views from their respective standpoint, value orientat ion, concrete opinions and etc..
