During the excavation in the direction opposite to the inclination of the rock layer in tunnels with expansive volcanic ash mudstone,severe deformation of the surrounding rock occurs.Taking the No.2 Inclined Shaft of Tunnel 6 of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway in Indonesia as an example,this article introduces the key techniques for controlling severe deformation in tunnels with expansive volcanic ash mudstone,aiming at providing references for the construction of similar tunnels,so as to further improve the construction quality and safety of the project.
