"Seed-Soil Theory"and the Occurence and Development of Gastric Cancer

“种子-土壤”说的核心观点为癌症发生具有三个要素:基因、环境和癌,可分别形象地认识为种子、土壤和癌肿(毒草)。在中医理论中,就有“土爰稼穑”的概念,并且脾胃在中医理论体系当中就以“土”性居后天之本的重要位置。同时,近年的研究表明,中医体质与人体致病、治疗与预后密切相关。中医辨证论治可通过对“土壤”偏性及偏颇体质的整体调整,杜绝“种子”的生长发育,从本质上干预胃癌的发生。将中医辨证论治与“种子-土壤”说原理相结合,通过改变“土壤”环境,以辨证论治为法,以扶正祛邪为治则,以阴阳平衡为目标,可达到纠正“土壤”偏性、祛除病理产物的效果。

The core viewpoint of the"seed-soil Theory"is that cancer occurrence has three elements:genes,environment,and cancer,which can be vividly recognized as seed,soil and cancer(poisonous grass).In the theory of traditional Chinese medicine,there is a concept that"earth is characterized by cultivation and reaping",and the Spleen and Stomach occupy an important position in the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine with"soil"nature as the foundation of postnatal development.Meanwhile,recent studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine constitution is closely related to human pathogenesis,treatment,and prognosis.Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation and treatment can fundamentally intervene in the occurrence of gastric cancer by adjusting the overall bias of"soil"and biased physique,preventing the growth and development of"seeds".By combining traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation and treatment with the principle of"Seed-soil Theory",by changing the"soil"environment,using syndrome differentiation and treatment as the method,supporting the Zheng Qi and eliminating evil factors as the treatment principle as well as balancing Yin and Yang as the goal,the effect of correcting the"soil"bias and removing pathological products can be achieved.
