Shuang Xuetao′s novels generally follow the principle of realism and can be regarded as a faithful record of the historical changes in the old industrial area of Northeast China since the 1980s,but his description of history is not purely based on the objective representation of reality,but a clue of surrealistic writing runs through it.Surrealistic writing is a unique creative path of integrating history into individual experience opened by Shuang Xuetao,in which the history has been deformed and presented with an almost magical appearance.Shuang Xuetao has formed his own unique form of text expression and presentation along this thread of surrealistic writing,but his surrealistic writing is not a castle in the air far away from reality,and behind it is the unspeakable burden of history and the difficulties of reality.
