Publicity and Mobilization in the Yan’an Health Exhibition in 1944

抗日战争时期,延安的环境卫生和广大群众的不良生活习惯深深影响着民众的身体健康乃至革命事业的进程。为改变民众的愚昧迷信和不卫生习惯,推动延安卫生事业的发展,党和政府于1944年7月在延安杨家岭大礼堂筹办了以卫生防疫、妇婴卫生和反对巫神迷信为主要内容的规模宏大的卫生展览会,并从会前筹备、氛围营造、会议过程设计和会后的模范评定多个方面进行了广泛的宣传和社会动员。此次卫生展览会以其丰富的展陈内容、多样的宣传形式使广大民众产生了强烈的思想共鸣,这对民众政治认同的提升、延安地区科学卫生观念的传播和中西医结合治疗方式的推动等都起到一定的积极作用。

During the period of The War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,the environmental health of Yan’an and the poor living habits of the masses deeply affected the people’s health and even the process of the revolutionary cause.In order to change the ignorance,superstitious belief and unhygienic habits of the people and promote the development of the health cause in Yan’an,the Communist Party of China and the government organized a large-scale health exhibition in the Yangjialing auditorium of Yan’an in July 1944,which mainly focused on health and epidemic prevention,maternal and infant health and anti-witchcraft superstition.In addition,extensive publicity and social mobilization were carried out from the aspects of exhibition preparation,atmosphere,process design and model evaluation.The health exhibition,with its rich content and various forms of publicity,has generated a strong ideological resonance among the general public,which has played a positive role in the promotion of public political identity,the dissemination of scientific and health concepts and the promotion of the combination of Chinese and Western medicines in the treatment of illnesses.
