摘要
从文艺复兴时期,数学作为工具被应用到视觉艺术中,到抽象表现时期,数学几何作为艺术表现的主题,到计算机时期,数学赋能算法形成人工智能艺术,数学在视觉艺术中的作用和功能随着人类科技和认知的发展而不断变化。立足于西方文化,以视觉艺术与数学之间的融合案例作为基础,对数学在视觉艺术发展脉络中分别扮演的工具、主题和思维几种角色进行探索。有助于艺术家理解数学介入视觉艺术对象的机制,同时拓展视觉艺术创作在运用数学时的理论支撑,为数字时代背景下的视觉艺术发展实践提供参考与借鉴。
From the Renaissance period,mathematics has been applied as a tool to visual art.At the abstract expression period,mathematical geometry became the theme of artistic expression.In modern computer era,mathematics has empowered algorithms to form artificial intelligence art.The role and function of mathematics in visual art have been constantly changing with the development of human technology and cognition.Based on Western culture,this study explores the three roles that mathematics plays in the development of visual art:tools,themes,and thinking,using the fusion of visual art and mathematics as a foundation.It helps artists understand the mechanism by which mathematics intervenes in visual art objects,while expanding the theoretical support for the application of mathematics in visual art creation,providing reference and inspiration for the development and practice of visual art in the context of the digital age.
