知识产权示范城市建设与制造业企业升级

Construction of Intellectual Property Demonstration Cities and Upgrading of Manufacturing Enterprises

制造业企业升级是实现我国制造业高质量发展的关键,知识产权示范城市是建设知识产权强国的必经之路。本文试图以知识产权示范城市建设作为一项准自然实验,探讨城市层面的知识产权制度与制造业企业升级的关系。本文以沪深A股2008—2020年所有制造业上市公司为研究样本,采用PSM—多期DID方法研究发现知识产权示范城市的建设能够有效促进制造业企业升级,这一结论在考虑更换被解释变量、更换匹配方法和反事实检验等问题进行稳健性检验后依然成立。机制检验发现,知识产权示范城市建设通过提升企业创新意愿和创新能力、加强知识产权制度供给和知识产权司法保障推动制造业企业升级。异质性检验发现,对于竞争激烈程度较高行业的企业而言,知识产权示范城市对企业升级有着更加显著的激励效应。

The upgrading of manufacturing enterprises is the key to achieving high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry,and intellectual property demonstration cities are necessary to build a strong intellectual property country.This paper takes all the manufacturing companies listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2008 to 2020 as the research sample and the construction of intellectual property demonstration cities as a quasi-natural experiment,uses the PSM multiphase DID method to study the relationship between city-level intellectual property system and the upgrading of manufacturing enterprises,and finds that the construction of intellectual property demonstration cities can effectively promote the upgrading of manufacturing enterprises.This conclusion is still valid after the robustness tests of replacing explained variables,replacing matching methods and counterfactual tests.Mechanism test has found that the construction of intellectual property demonstration cities promotes the upgrading of manufacturing enterprises by enhancing their innovation willingness and ability,strengthening the supply of intellectual property system and judicial protection of intellectual property.Further heterogeneity test has found that for enterprises in highly competitive industries,intellectual property demonstration cities have a more significant incentive effect on enterprise upgrading.
