The national intangible cultural heritage of tiger carving fl ower,representing the Miao family paper-cutting art,is an indispensable book on art and cultural history for the Miao people.This paper employs four dimensions of design semiotics-semantics,structure,pragmatics,and context-to conduct a profound analysis of the cultural value embedded in tiger carving fl ower.It deconstructs the Miao symbols contained within it and integrates research fi ndings into production innovation through modern design methods.
