策士的重现:魏禧《孟子牵牛章》评点实践

“牵牛章”在《孟子》中地位独特,历代《孟子》学著作对此章阐释都颇为用心。许多学者在阐释此章义理时纷纷触及到孟子的论辩技巧,越来越关注《孟子》的辞章。魏禧在继承前人基础之上,单独重新评点此章,发掘《孟子》文章中的文势与文法,认为其文有“策士气”,是进言的典范之作。魏禧借《孟子》光明正大之文讲解策士进言之术,阳儒而阴纵横,实际上还原儒家经典《孟子》作为战国诸子的真实面目,同时提出自己关于“进言”体文章写作的理论主张。

"Ox Holding Chapter"holds a unique position in Mencius,and scholars have put great effort into interpreting this chapter in history.Many scholars refer to the argumentative techniques of Mencius while explaining the meaning of this chapter,and are increasingly paying attention to the rhetoric of Mencius.On the basis of previous study,Wei Xi reevaluates this chapter,exploring the literary style and grammar in the articles of Mencius,and believes that there is a strategist style,making it a model work for persuading the supervisors.Wei Xi uses the chapter as an example to explain his"principle of persuasion"and"strategy of persuasion".He believes that in argumentative articles,various persuasion techniques should be flexibly used to ultimately achieve the effect of persuading others.Wei explains the technique of persuasion using the righteous and upright text of Mencius,both positive and negative.In fact,it restores the true face of the Confucian classic Mencius as one of the schools in Warring States period,and puts forward his own theoretical proposal for writing articles in the persuasion style.
