Transcending Definitions,Boundaries,and Eras:A Reexamination of Kittler’s Thought

从宏观思路和整体视角出发,明晰贯穿德国媒介研究奠基人基特勒思想理论的线索,进而探索这位学者超越定义、超越边界及超越时代的独特价值。对基氏“媒介决定论者”的定义实质为学术话语博弈的产物,其媒介本体论继承了海德格尔对于人和技术的思考,秉持后人类主义立场。基氏以后诠释学批评促成了日耳曼学的现代化学科转型及媒介研究的出现,并以“媒介—技术”转向打破了人们的媒介认知边界。而基氏晚期的古希腊情结意在唤醒德国学界的自我意识,其超前的“文化技艺”概念更让媒介技术哲学确立了新的方向。基特勒的学术实践为当下我国学界带来的启示在于:重思媒介本质与“人—技术”辩证关系,以开拓视野开展跨学科研究,并聚焦基于本国语境、本土问题的自主知识体系构建。

Starting from a macro perspective and a holistic view,this paper elucidates the threads that run through the theoretical framework of Friedrich Kittler,one of the founding figures of German media studies.It then explores the unique value of this scholar in transcending definitions,boundaries,and eras.It argues that Kittler’s definition of“media determinists”is essentially a product of academic discourse,and his media ontology inherits Heidegger’s reflections on humans and technology,upholding a post-humanist position.Kittler’s later hermeneutic critique facilitated the modernization of German studies and the emergence of media studies,breaking the boundaries of people’s understanding of media with the shift towards“media-technology”.His late fascination with ancient Greece aimed to awaken self-awareness in the German academic community,and his pioneering concept of“cultural technology”established a new direction for media technology philosophy.The academic practices of Kittler offer insights for contemporary Chinese academia:to rethink the essence of media and the dialectical relationship between humans and technology,to expand interdisciplinary research,and to focus on building an independent knowledge system based on the national context and local issues.
