This study aims to explore the contribution of landscape design dominated by native plants to enhancing biodiversity.By delving into the definition and characteristics of native plants and the role of landscape design in biodiversity conservation,the significance of this design concept in urban environments is emphasized.The study examines the close relationship between landscape design and biodiversity,defining the goals and definition of landscape design and dissecting their mutual interactions.Mechanisms for increasing biodiversity,providing ecosystem services,and the positive impact on environmental sustainability are discussed.Using the Hangzhou Botanical Garden as a case study,the study showcases the rich ecological selection of native plants,multi-level plant layout,and the tangible enhancement of biodiversity and societal benefits.Through a combination of theoretical analysis and empirical case studies,this study comprehensively elaborates on the pivotal role of landscape design dominated by native plants in biodiversity conservation.It provides theoretical guidance and practical recommendations for promoting biodiversity conservation and urban sustainability.
