"Monopoly Capital,"published in 1966 by Paul A.Baran and Paul M.Sweezy,is one of the foundational works in Marxist political economy,not only in the United States but also globally.It is still regarded as a classic.The book's publication was deeply influenced by Baran's death.Despite having completed and discussed the entire book multiple times,the two authors did not reach a consensus on certain crucial issues.As a result,two chapters were not officially published,and one of them is the theoretical chapter titled"Some Theoretical Implications".This paper,while explaining the missing theoretical chapter,elucidates the main arguments of the missing chapter to address why and to what extent Baran and Sweezy did not reach a consensus on certain crucial issues.It also examines the contemporary value of the missing theoretical chapter from the perspective of the ongoing debates in academia surrounding"Monopoly Capital,"highlighting how Baran and Sweezy revolutionarily contributed to understanding monopoly capitalism by integrating Marxist political economy with significant changes in the monopolistic capitalist stage.
