历史和文化是一个民族精神的来处,也是一个民族前行的力量源泉。我们从历史中汲取力量,从文化中获得智慧。优秀的文化不仅塑造我们的品格,影响我们的当下,更将指引我们未来前行的方向。大学肩负着传承文化的使命,并在文化传承中获得强大的精神力量、道德力量和感召力量,从而成为人类的精神家园。优秀大学一定有着厚重的历史基础和自己独特的文化。中国矿业大学源于1909年创建的焦作路矿学堂,迄今已经走过了她的期颐之年又15载。于人,则是人中之瑞;于一所大学,恰是风华正茂。时值中国矿业大学115周年校庆之际,为深入发掘、传承、弘扬矿大精神及百年文化,讲好矿大故事,营造服务育人氛围,凝聚服务“双一流”建设的理想信念,积极践行服务育人、文化育人理念,中国矿业大学期刊中心举办了“矿大精神与文化传承”主题征文活动。其中蔡世华的《张清涟抗战时期诗作:高校西迁精神的生动写照》、王传棨的《矿大百年徽标的历史演化及文化传承意涵》和贾玲、徐黎华的《工程救国躬行实践——私立焦作工学院实践教育理念与教学体系》即本次征文活动中评选出的3篇优秀征文,经整理编校后以笔谈的形式刊出,以飨校友。《张清涟抗战时期诗作:高校西迁精神的生动写照》对中国矿业大学前身私立焦作工学院院长张清涟抗战时期的诗作进行分类解读,这些诗歌作品集中体现了西迁高校师生强烈的爱国情怀和自觉的教育使命担当,是西迁精神的生动写照,可以诗史互证,弥补史料不足,深度展示西迁师生心灵历程,同时也反映出特定时代的教育思想与办学理念,具有重要历史价值和借鉴意义。《矿大百年徽标的历史演化及文化传承意涵》搜集了中国矿业大学不同历史时期的学校徽标实物,这些徽标高度浓缩了中国矿业大学14次搬迁、12次易名的曲折办学史,也反映了不同时代的办学历史背景、时代特征、大学审美意向,见证着学校与国家社会发展同呼吸共命运的强大韧性,寄托着学校薪火相传弦歌不辍延续矿业高等教育火种的誓愿,更彰显了矿大师生从实业救国、工程报国,到教育强国、科创兴国的爱国奉献精神和“开发矿业、开采光明、建设祖国、造福人类”的核心价值追求。《工程救国躬行实践——私立焦作工学院实践教育理念与教学体系》以馆藏档案为基础,深入分析私立焦作工学院高度重视实践教学的办学理念和相应的教学体系,展现了焦工学人“工程救国”的朴素爱国情怀。
History and culture are the source of a nation's spirit and the strength for the nation to move forward.We draw strength from history and wisdom from culture.Excellent culture not only shapes our character and influences the present,but also guides us in the direction of our future progress.Universities shoulder the mission of inheriting culture and gain spiritual,moral,and charismatic power through cultural inheritance,and function as a spiritual home for humanity.Excellent universities must have a strong historical foundation and their own unique culture.China University of Mining and Technology(CUMT)originated from Jiaozuo Railway and Mining School,founded in 1909,and has gone through one century and another 15 years,and yet as a university,it is till in its prime.On the occasion of its 115th anniversary celebration,the Journal Center of CUMT held a themed essay solicitation activity on"The Spirit and Cultural Inheritance of CUMT",with the aim to deeply explore,inherit,and promote its spirit and century old culture,share its stories through effective communication,create the atmosphere of service-oriented education,consolidate the ideal belief of serving the"Double First Class"construction,and actively practice the concept of service-oriented education and cultural education.Among them,Cai Shihua's"Zhang Qinglian's Poems during the Anti-Japanese War:A Vivid portrayal of the Spirit of Westward Migration of the University",Wang Chuangui's"The Historical Evolution and Cultural Inheritance of the Centennial Logos of CUMT",and Jia Ling and Xu Lihua's"Practical Practice in Engineering to Save the Country—Practical Education Theory and Teaching System of Jiaozuo Private Institute of Technology"are the three excellent essays selected in this essay solicitation activity.After being sorted and edited,they are published in the form of written discussions."Zhang Qinglian's Poems during the Anti-Japanese War:A Vivid portrayal of the Spirit of Westward Migration of the University"categorizes and interprets the poems of Zhang Qinglian,the former president of the Jiaozuo Private Institute of Technology(the predecessor of CUMT)during the Anti-Japanese War.These poetic works reflect the strong patriotism and self-perceived educational mission of the teachers and students during the westward migration of the university,achieve mutual verification between his poetic works and the historical facts,make up for the lack of historical materials,and display in depth the spiritual journey of the teachers and students during the westward migration.At the same time,they also reflect the educational ideas and concepts of the specific times,which are of great historical value and reference significance."The Historical Evolution and Cultural Inheritance of the Centennial Logos of CUMT"collects physical logos of the university from different historical periods.These logos highly condense the tortuous history of the 14 relocations and 12 name changes,and reflect the historical background,characteristics,and aesthetic orientations of different eras as well.They witness the strong resilience of the university to share a common destiny with the nation and the society,and embody the university's solemn pledge to carry on the cause of higher education in mining and technology.They further demonstrates the patriotic and dedicated spirit of the teachers and students of the university,from saving the country through industry and engineering to revitalizing the country through science and technology,as well as the pursuit of the core values of"developing mining,supplying energy,serving the nation,and benefiting humanity".Based on the collection of archives,"Practical Practice in Engineering to Save the Country—Practical Education Theory and Teaching System of Jiaozuo Private Institute of Technology"analyzes in depth the educational philosophy and corresponding teaching system adhered by the institute,and demonstrates the great importance attached to practical teaching,and the students'plain patriotism of saving the country through engineering".
