五四时期东西文化论战的理论界标及其文明启示

The Theoretical Boundary and Civilization Inspiration of East-West Cultural Debate in the May Fourth Period

建设中华民族现代文明是新时代中国共产党新的使命任务,标志着中华文化发展进入崭新境界。五四时期东西文化论战围绕中华文化的现代性与现代化问题展开,探讨东西文化古今之争、义利之辩与动静之别的性质差异,为中华文明的现代转型开辟了立足本来、吸收外来、中西结合三条文化发展路径,成为推动中华文明从传统形态向现代形态过渡的思想界标,至今仍有重要启示意义。推动中华民族现代文明建设,在主体维度上要不断巩固中华文化的主体性,在实践维度上要贯彻“两创”方针,在价值维度上要坚持走“两个结合”的文化发展路径,在目标维度上要担当引领文化繁荣发展的文化使命。

The construction of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation is the new mission of the Communist Party of China in the new era,marking the development of Chinese culture into a new realm.The east-west cultural debate in the May Fourth period centered on the modernity and modernization of Chinese culture,exploring the nature and differences of the ancient and modern disputes,the debate between righteousness and interests,and the distinction between movement and stillness between Chinese and western cultures.This debate transformed the Chinese civilization by absorbing the foreign and combining China and the west based on its proper sense,marking the ideological boundary that has promoted the transition of Chinese civilization from tradition to modern,and still exerted important enlightening significance today.The east-west cultural debate has a far-reaching influence,and it still has a strong practical inspiration on the issue of cultural development.In order to build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation,this paper proposes that the following four aspects should be operated:In the subjective dimension,to continuously consolidate the subjectivity of Chinese culture;in the practical dimension,to implement the policy of“two creations”;in the value dimension,to adhere to the cultural development path of“two combinations”;in the target dimension,to assume the cultural mission of leading the prosperity and development of culture.
