都市中产男性的志愿服务与关爱性男性气质——基于成都市S国际化社区的经验研究

Volunteer Service of Urban Middle-Class Men and Caring Masculinities:An Empirical Study on an Internationalizing Community in Chengdu City

在我国,男性的志愿服务与男性气质构建尚未得到学界的关注。本文将关爱性男性气质作为分析框架,基于成都市S国际化社区的参与观察,选取了8位都市中产男性志愿者进行访谈,聚焦其参与志愿服务的过程与经验,考察并分析了都市中产男性在社区志愿服务中的关爱性男性气质。都市中产男性志愿者的关爱性男性气质是通过个体较高的受教育水平、职场对家庭性别关系的影响及其对“耙耳朵”男性性格标签的重新书写塑造的。双职工家庭的照料危机构成了都市中产男性在家庭私领域实践关爱性男性气质的困境,使之走向社区寻找支持。由政府主导、专业社工机构协同的国际化社区建设为都市中产男性通过做志愿者实践关爱性男性气质提供了平台,打破了照料工作的公私边界与性别区隔。这类群体的志愿服务与关爱性男性气质为我们建构促进性别平等的社区公益与社区治理提供了新的可能与方向。

In China,men’s volunteer services and masculinities construction has not received much academic attention.This paper uses caring masculinities as the analytical framework.Based on participatory observation in an internationalizing community in Chengdu City,we selected eight male volunteers for interviews and focused on the process and experiences of urban middle-class men engaging in volunteer services to cultivate caring masculinities.Urban middle-class men actively embrace change,and their caring masculinities are shaped by individual higher education levels,gender dynamics in the workplace and family,and their self-narrative of“Pa Er duo”male personality.The care crisis in dual-income families has created challenges for urban middle-class men to practice caring masculinities,leading them to seek community support.The government-led and professional social work service center coordinates internationalizing community development,providing a platform for urban middle-class men to participate in volunteer service and practice caring masculinities,which helps break down boundaries and gender segregation in care work.The voluntary services and caring masculinities within this group provide new possibilities and directions for us to construct initiatives in community philanthrophy and governance that promote gender equality.
