寻找中性概念:中国情境下“父母包办”大学选择的特征及其影响

摘要 立足于大学选择和父母学业参与的理论视角,本研究对东部X市4所不同类型院校的女生及其父母进行半结构访谈,采用解释现象学的质性分析方法考察父母包办大学选择的行为特征和影响。研究发现,与西方社会不同,中国家庭的父母包办子女大学选择更为明显,该行为在父母极度强势、特殊招生类型、选择体制内专业、子女性格温和的情况下表现更为突出。在中国文化情境下,对于此种“包办”应该破除单一的批评话语,转向追求一种中性的价值立场。一方面,此种包办既造成传统价值观下大学选择的固化观念、不平等资源与阶级分配的无力,影响孩子的心理建设和学业适应,同时异化了家校互动。另一方面,父母的早期干预也为职业和人生迷茫的子女提供了结构化支持和信息弥合的作用。本研究的贡献在于试图为“父母包办大学选择”进行一次理论建构的尝试,也为中国传统语境下的父母包办和密集型育儿行为方式提供了一个更为中性的研究视角。 Based on the theoretical perspective of college selection and parents'academic participation,this study conducted semi-structured interviews with female students and their parents from four different types of colleges and universities in City X in Eastern of China.The study found that,unlike in Western societies,parents in Chinese families are more likely to choose the colleges for their children.This behavior is characterized by extremely aggressive parents,special types of admission,institutional majors,and the gentle personality of children's.In the context of Chinese culture,this kind of"arrangement"should break the single critical discourse and turn to the pursuit of a neutral value position.On the one hand,this kind of arrangement not only causes the rigid concept of university selection under traditional values,unequal resources and class distribution,but also affects children's psychological construction and academic adaptation,and alienates the interaction between family and school.On the other hand,parents'early intervention also provides structured support and information bridging for their children who are confused in career and life.The contribution of this study is to try to construct a theory for the"college choice arranged by parents",and also to provide a more neutral research perspective for the parents'arrangement and intensive parenting behavior in the traditional context of China.
