The deep integration of digital technology and agriculture is an essential path to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional agriculture and achieve high-quality development in agriculture.Taking 26 provinces and regions in China as the research objects, this study employs the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method to explore the diverse configurational path of digital transformation driving high-quality development in agriculture. The research shows that digital infrastructure, inclusive digital finance, digital information services, digital skills and digital economic models are not necessary conditions for high-quality development in agriculture. The elements of digital transformation work together to form heterogeneous paths that drive high-quality development in agriculture, demonstrating characteristics of“multiple concurrent paths”and“diverging paths leading to the same outcome”.By focusing on core conditions, the configurational paths can be summarized as digital economy-led,infrastructure and information service-driven,and infrastructure, information service and digital economy linkage-driven paths. Therefore,it is recommended that localities clearly prioritize and promote rural digital construction according to local conditions, thus promoting the synergistic development of digital economy and high-quality development in agriculture.
