“On the socialist movement in Germany”gives a panoramic account of the introduction of the early French socialist movement into Germany during the“Pre-March”period.The book Socialism and Communism in Modern France written by Lorenz von Stein first introduced early French socialist and communist ideas and the concept of the proletariat to Germany,informed the Germans of French socialism,and was the initial catalyst for the philosophical movement’s moderate evaluation and commentary on socialism.Johann Kasper Bluntschli informed the government of German socialism through the pamphlet On the Communists in Switzerland.Carl Ferdinand Julius Fröbel showed his courage to fight firmly for socialism.Marx and Engels fought for socialism with all the spiritual strength cultivated by German philosophy.The movement in France began with political struggle;the movement in Germany with religious struggle.French socialism was rooted in practice;German anthroposophy in theory.With the publication of the German French Yearbook in Paris,the movement combining German theory with French practice took a major step forward.
