Film emerged during the fervent era of western urbanization,with some arguing that it is itself a mechanical invention,a product of urban industrial development.The film industry gradually took shape and developed amidst urbanization.Cities are the soil in which films grow,while also being the subjects of observation and scrutiny by films.City and film,one a rich and vibrant space,the other a medium capturing light and shadow with penetrating audiovisual capabilities,rely on each other and mirror each other.So,what kind of city can truly live up to the title of"City of Film"?
