人物年谱是以“谱”的形式叙述历史人物生平行实的一种体式,它介于史书的编年与纪传之间,年谱不是资料的堆砌,而是一种具有超强学术性的研究著述。王福元博士《宋祁年谱长编》,本着严守学术规范的态度,搜集征引大量文献资料,为北宋政治家、文学家、学者宋祁的一生行迹进行编年,书中不仅解决了宋祁生平中的许多重要问题,对其行年、宦迹、交游、诗文系年等也予以扎实考辨,从而使此书成为目前研究宋祁生平与创作的一部具有重要参考价值的学术著作。
