On July 31,1965,J.K.Rowling was born in Gwent,England and graduated from the University of Exeter.In 1990,after her mother passed away,Rowling left Britain for Portugal.She was 1)eager for adventure and a fresh start in life.She taught English and wrote the beginnings of her first book,Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,during the break.She got married and had a baby girl there.In December 1993,on the flight out of Portugal back to her home country,she was already a single mother,with only her infant daughter and the first three chapters of her book.
