The result of the intersection of Chinese and Western literary theories in the 2oth century was the e-mergence of two Western literary theories and two Westernization. Two types of Western literary theory refer to Western language Western literary theory in the West and Chinese translated Western literary theory in China. The two types of Westernization refer to the localization of Chinese literary theory in China and the Westernization of Chi-nese literary theory in the West. The foreign literary theory dominated by Western literary theory has had a huge im-pact in China and has been transformed by local Chinese literary theory. It was the strong practical needs of China it-self that drove the importing and localizing of foreign literary theory. The focus of localization was not only on the spread of Western literary theory in China, but more importantly,on the organic rewriting based on China's own the-oretical traditions and practical needs. The development of Chinese literary theory in the 2oth century was character-ized by the interaction between the center and the periphery of pluralistic factors in China's native tradition under the reflection and promotion of foreign culture, mainly Western literary theory. As a late-developing Oriental power, the new tradition of Chinese literary theory in the 2oth century contained the modern experience of Chinese literary theory that ancient Chinese literary theory did not have.It is of unique significance not only to China, but also to the world.
