论数据模型的特征及其认知功能

On the Characteristics of Data Models and Their Cognitive Functions

摘要 科学研究以多种方式生成和使用数据,数据集经过降噪、拟合等过程构建起数据模型。传统观点认为数据是经验内容,模型则属理论内容,而数据模型处于两者之间的模糊地带。但苏亚斯等哲学家强调模型的代理推理这一认知功能,数据模型通过数据操作与数据处理过程发挥认知功能。因此一种自然主义的数据、数据模型区分方式应当被抛弃。数据模型以基于推理的表征观为认知力来源。 Scientific research generates and uses data in various ways,with data models being constructed through processes such as reduction and fitting.The traditional view holds that data represents empirical content,while models pertain to theoretical content,leaving data models in a vague area between the two.However,philosophers like Suarez emphasize the cognitive function of model-based agent reasoning,thus data models play a cognitive role through data manipulation and processing.Therefore,a naturalistic distinction between data and data models should be abandoned.Data models draw their cognitive power from the inferential representation perspective.
