摘要
莎士比亚在明治时期传入日本。当时日本摆脱了长期的民族闭塞,开始吸收西欧文化,开启了现代化进程。本文考察在这样的历史背景下,近代日本作家坪内逍遥、森鸥外和夏目漱石对莎剧的翻译与解读,进而思考日本对莎士比亚的接受与日本的西化之间的联系。
Shakespeare was introduced to Japan during the Meiji period.At that time,Japan got rid of its long-term national isolation,absorbed Western European culture,and began the modernization process.This article examines the translation and inter-pretation of Shakespeare’s works by modern Japanese writers such as ShōyōTsubouchi,Ōgai Mori,and Sōseki Natsume.It aims to reveal the connection between the reception of Shakespeare and Westernization in Japan.
