In Shakespeare on Theatre,Robert Cohen proposes that Shakespeare, due to family reasons and personal hobbies, had a strong interest in the drama, and then became an actor, playwright, director,a shareholder of the theater companies, and a co-producer of theatre, highlighting his multiple identities beyond dramatist throughout his working life.In fact,Shakespeare also wrote about actor/actors/player/players,stage and audience incessantly in his works.Cohen points out that Shakespeare was a full-fledged man of the theatre by making an in-depth analysis of Shakespeare’s plays.
