荀子“群”思想探析

An Analysis of Xunzi’s Thought of“Qun”

“群”在荀子的思想体系中具有多层含义:“群”是人类区别于动物的根本标志,群是人的社会性生命的力量集合,群是社会和谐的前提和基础。通过分析“群是什么”、“群”何以可能、人何以能“群”、为何“分”使“群”可能等问题,阐释了“群”思想的价值内涵和理想状态。荀子“群”思想之于今天有利于构建和谐社会秩序;建立和维持社会秩序时,注重人道德建设的同时看重人外在约束力,重法是刚性的治理国家的手段;构建和谐社会的过程中,法治不可或缺。

“Qun”has multiple meanings in Xunzi’s ideological system:it is the fundamental symbol that distinguishes human beings from animals;it is the collection of the power of human social life;and it is the premise and foundation of social harmony.This paper explains the value connotation and ideal state of the idea of“Qun”by analyzing questions such as“what is Qun”,how to make“Qun”possible,how can a person be“Qun”,and why“division”makes“Qun”possible.Today,Xunzi’s idea of“Qun”is conducive to the construction of a harmonious social order.When establishing and maintaining social order,it is important to emphasize the external constraints of human beings while focusing on the construction of human morality.Emphasizing the rule of law is a rigid means of governing the country.In the process of constructing a harmonious society,the rule of law is indispensable.
