乐秀成(1946—1992,浙江人),“走向未来丛书”编委和编译者之一。追忆20世纪80年代通过“走向未来丛书”与乐秀成的交往,叙述他赴美攻读,成为改革开放后第一位在美国获得科学史博士学位的中国内地学者,纪念那一充满激情与希望的难忘年代。

As a tribute to the unforgettable 1980s,an era so filled with hope and high spirits,this article sketches the author's encounter with Le Xiucheng during those days through work on the"Towards Future"book series and gives an account of his subsequent trip to the United States,where,as the first scholar from China's Mainland,he earned a doctorate in history of science after the reform and opening-up period.
