Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)presents a significant challenge to global public health,characterized by deficits in social interaction and behavioral patterns.Despite these challenges,individuals with ASD often exhibit intact musical abilities,suggesting music therapy as a potential avenue for rehabilitation.However,the effectiveness of music therapy in mitigating ASD symptoms remains uncertain.This study,grounded in the hypothesis that attentional processing may be pivotal in ASD,investigates attentional deficits in individuals with ASD and assesses the impact of music therapy on their attentional capacities.Findings reveal the presence of attentional deficits in individuals with ASD.Furthermore,when training and test tasks align,various modalities of music therapyreceptive,active,and integrativedemonstrate efficacy in enhancing attentional abilities.These findings not only shed light on ASD treatment strategies but also affirm the potential of music therapy in addressing ASD symptoms,paving the way for novel interventions in ASD management.
