从中华优秀传统文化到“理解当代中国”——以英语演讲课程教学设计为例

From Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture to"Understanding Contemporary China":A Case Study of English Speech Course Design

英语演讲课程应从重视“演讲之术”向重视“演讲之道”转变,重点培养学生在国际传播中有效传递中国当代治理理念的能力。本文以北京语言大学高级英语演讲课程为例,介绍在教学中如何运用内容依托教学法,以中国当代治理理念为系列主题,深入挖掘其中华优秀传统文化根源,引导学生从把握中华优秀传统文化到“理解当代中国”,并以培养跨文化能力为重点,提高学生对外讲好中国故事的能力。

The emphasis of English speech course needs to be shifted from"speech technique"to"speech philosophy",with the focus on cultivating students'ability to effectively convey contemporary Chinese governance ideas in international communication.This article takes the"Advanced English Speech Course"at Beijing Language and Culture University as an example to illustrate how to guide students from grasping Chinese excellent traditional culture to"understanding contemporary China",under the guidance of Content Based Instruction(CBI)teaching method,systematically topicalizing contemporary Chinese governance ideas and exploring the roots of these ideas in excellent traditional Chinese culture,with cross-cultural competence cultivation as the key to improve students'ability to tell China's stories to the world.
