This paper introduces the working principle,classification and characteristics of wire and cable spark testing machine,and expounds the basic requirements for selecting suitable spark testing machine for different types of cables,in the light of the problems easily occurred in the use of the spark testing machine,the corresponding countermeasures are listed,which provide help for the operators to use the on-line spark testing machine,it provides strong support for the quality control of wire and cable production process.
