With the transformation of the National Radio and Television University to Open University,how to accurately grasp the position of Open University in the entire national educational ecosystem determines the future development direction of Open University.Niche theory profoundly reveals the ecological transformation of Open University in terms of niche width,niche overlap and niche competition.Under the background of the strategy of“building a high-quality education system”,Open University undertakes the mission of building an education system that serves lifelong learning for all.Therefore,Open University urgently needs to find the logical basis and target positioning of the overall transformation,and to seek new ecological space through niche expansion,niche separation and niche improvement and other strategies,so as to solve the deep-seated problems of Open University,such as unclear positioning,imperfect system and low quality of running schools.
