Digital Economy, Foreign Direct Investment, and Industrial Structure Transformation and Upgrading

数字经济利用新型技术,以知识和信息为生产要素,不断推进产业结构转型升级、经济结构优化、技术变革以及生产效率提升。引入外商直接投资作为中介变量,以中国31个省及地区2013-2021年数据为基础,探究数字经济发展水平对产业结构高级化与合理化的影响与作用机制。通过实证研究发现显著影响以及部分中介效应的存在,同时通过地区异质性、门槛效应分析发现中介效应的发挥存在明显的地区异质性并符合单门槛效应,通过稳健性检验发现滞后效应存在并对产业结构影响具有差异。

The digital economy utilizes new technologies and uses knowledge and information as production factors to continuously promote industrial structure transformation and upgrading,economic structure optimization,technological transformation,and production efficiency improvement.The study introduces foreign direct investment as an intermediary variable,based on data from 31 provinces and regions in China from 2013 to 2021,to explore the impact and mechanism of the development level of the digital economy on the upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure.Through empirical research,significant impacts and partial mediating effects were found.At the same time,through analysis of regional heterogeneity and threshold effects,it was found that the mediating effect has significant regional heterogeneity and conforms to the single threshold effect.Through robustness testing,it was found that lag effects exist and have different impacts on industrial structure.
