In the heart of the Karakoram Plateau,at an altitude of more than 4,500 meters,a newarmored assaultvehicle crewed by women roars forward.A synthetic regiment of the Xinjiang Military Region is doing a livefire test of armored assault vehicles.Insidethevehicle's hard shell is a crew of four.Gunner Corporal Wang Qian is holding the optical gun calibrator tight with both hands searching for the target;driver Sergeant Sun Qi shifts thegears to accelerate,and turns the steering wheel rapidly;the leader,Sergeant Xu Yali,skillfully gives commands through the radio;and second gunner LiWanting,half squatting and knitting her brow,readies for the order to load the shell.
