Objective:To compare the effect of single and secondary COVID-19 on population mental health. Methods:From December 2022 to January 2023,public anxiety, depression, sleep, resilience and psychological stress were evaluated through Coronavirus Anxiety Scale(CAS),Center For Epidemic Depression Scale(CES-D),Insomnia Severity Index Scale(ISI),Connor-Davidson Elasticity Scale(CD-RISC),and Stanford Acute Stress Response Questionnaire(SASRQ).Results:The scores of CAS,CES-D,ISI,and SASRQ of the second COVID-19 patients were higher than those of the single infection(P<0.001).The prevalence of anxiety, depression, insomnia, and stress disorder among the secondary COVID-19 patients was significantly higher than that respectively in the single-infected patients(P<0.05).After the potential confounding factors were controlled, the prevalence of anxiety(OR=2.738),insomnia(OR=1.730),and acute stress disorder(OR=2.481)in the second infected patients in COVID-19 was significantly higher than that respectively in the single infected people(P<0.01).Conclusion:The prevalence of mental health problems in the secondary infected patients is significantly higher than that in the single infected patients. The secondary COVID-19 may be a risk factor for anxiety, insomnia, and acute stress disorder.
