摘要
《济公活佛》是上海新舞台历史上演出时间最长、票房收益最高的戏,却也是蒙受骂名最多的戏。当时的文化精英认为,新舞台由此从宣传进步思想,堕落为极力讨好观众。新舞台是商业利润与社会责任并重的职业演剧团体,《济公活佛》是其实现通俗教育演剧观念的一次尝试。《济公活佛》的具体做法或有肤浅粗糙之嫌,但其立足传统文化资源、对接现代观众审美的创作理念,依然对当代戏曲有启示意义。
Jigong Buddha is the longest performing and highest grossing play in the history of Shanghai New Stage,but it is also the most criticized play.At that time,cultural elites believed that the New Stage had degenerated from promoting progressive ideas to striving to please the audience.New Stage is a professional theatrical group that emphasizes both commercial profitability and social responsibility.Jigong Buddha is an attempt by the New Stage to achieve the concept of popular educational drama.The specific approach of Jigong Buddha still has enlightening significance for contemporary Chinese opera.
