The historical initiative,as the spiritual quality of the Communist Party of China(CPC)in grasping and summarizing the historical experience of a struggling century,is the important political key for the Party and to have led the Chinese people through a century of trials and hardships,constantly overcome difficulties and obstacles,and finally made great achievements.As a concentrated expression of Marxist historical materialism,the great historical initiative is the spiritual key to the success of the Party’s century-long struggle,the source of strength to seize opportunities and courageously move forward,the important barrier for the centennial Party to cope with risks and challenges,and the spiritual support to promote Chinese path to modernization.It implies adhering to seeking truth from facts and grasping historical laws,to the principle of putting the people first and taking the initiative in history,to the courage to undertake missions and shoulder historical responsibilities,to seizing historical opportunities and daring to explore and innovate,and the like.In the new era,the CPC should open up a new realm of historical initiative in the process of standing firm in the people’s position,building up their fighting ability,adhering to integrity and innovation,and strengthening the study and education of the Party’s history,so as to better inject spiritual power into the realization of the Second Centennial goal and the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
