Discussion on Maternal and Child Health Work in Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region During Strategic Defense of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression

由于旧封建风俗及战争环境的影响,抗战时期晋察冀边区妇婴卫生水平低下,封建迷信观念盛行。抗日战争进入战略反攻阶段,晋察冀边区在妇婴卫生工作方面进行了一系列以科学破除迷信的工作,具体包括召开妇婴卫生知识宣传座谈会、举办妇婴卫生训练班等。抗日战争战略反攻阶段晋察冀边区妇婴卫生工作以科学破迷信取得了积极的历史成效,既移风易俗、破除了封建迷信,又普及了科学卫生知识,提高了妇婴卫生水平,还巩固了党群、干群关系,为抗战最终胜利奠定了坚实的群众基础。

Because of the old feudal customs and the impact of the war environment,the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border region faced low-level maternal and child health and prevalent feudal superstitions during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.When the War entered the stage of strategic counter-offensive,the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border region carried out a series of scientific efforts to dispel superstitions in maternal and child health,including holding group discussions for promoting knowledge in maternal and child health and training courses of maternal and child health.During that period,the maternal and child health work in the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border region made positive historical achievements by scientifically breaking down superstitions.It also popularized the knowledge of science and health,improved the level of maternal and child health,and consolidated the relationships between the party and the masses and between the cadres and the masses,thus laying a solid mass foundation for the final victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
