於达望是中国近代药学的开创者和奠基人,为《中华药典》做出了多方面的工作:著文陈述没有国家药典的弊害,介绍国外药典编纂情况,上书卫生行政部门,对之最终决定编纂产生积极的影响;主持、参加审查药学名词,为编纂清除文字障碍;与孟目的主持编纂,几易其稿,始克完成;主持印刷过程中繁琐的校对工作,保证药典得以顺利付梓;著文介绍《中华药典》,为之编订索引,补遗拾缺,实验验证,并提出改版建议。於达望之于《中华药典》表现出的勇于担当、坚持不懈、团结合作和任劳任怨的精神,是其药学救国、报国之志的体现,对于今天科技工作者仍具有教育和借鉴意义。

Yu Dawang is the pioneer and founder of modern Chinese pharmacy.He contributed a lot to Zhonghua Yaodian.He wrote an article stating the disadvantages of not having a national pharmacopoeia,introduced the compilation of foreign pharmacopoeia,and wrote to the health administrative department,which had a positive impact on the final decision to compile the pharmacopoeia in order to clear the word barrier,he presided over and participated in the review of pharmaceutical terms.Yu and Meng Mudi presided over the editing of the dictionary and revised it many times.He was also responsible for the tedious proofreading of the printing process and the publication of the pharmacopoeia.He also wrote an article introducing the pharmacopoeia,compiling an index for it,filling in the gaps,experimentally verifying,and putting forward suggestions for revision.Yu Dawang's spirit of courage,perseverance,unity and cooperation and hard work in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia is the embodiment of his ambition to save the country and serve the country in pharmacy,and it still has educational and reference significance for today's scientific and technological workers.
