James Sadler was a missionary of the London Missionary Society.His translation of Pioneers of Science mainly introduces the famous western astronomers and the development history of western astronomy from the 15th century to the 19th century.This article compares different versions of the Chinese translation,reveals its original version,and then provides a general introduction to the main content of the Chinese translation,preliminarily analyzes the characteristics,such as the excerpts,additions,and terms translations.
