Professor Zhou Huifang′s experience in treating sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease

盆腔炎性疾病后遗症(SPID)是感染性疾病,以往称为慢性盆腔炎。周惠芳教授是江苏省名中医,从事妇科临床、教学及科研工作30余年,在治疗SPID方面积累了丰富的临床经验。周惠芳教授认为SPID乃本虚标实之证,总病机为正气已虚而余邪未净,湿热、瘀滞为发病之标,正虚为发病之本,其中肾虚是核心。扶正祛邪是SPID的治疗总则,急性加重期以清利下焦、化瘀通络为主,自拟益肾清利方;缓解期补肾调周以扶正固本,佐以清利、化瘀。证情重者配合自拟灌肠方灌肠,内服外治,疗效显著。

Sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease(SPID)is an infectious disease,formerly known as chronic pelvic inflammation.Professor Zhou Huifang is a famous TCM doctor in Jiangsu Province.She has been engaged in gynecological clinic,teaching and scientific research for more than 30 years,and has accumulated rich clinical experience in the treatment of SPID.Prof.Zhou Huifang believes that SPID belongs to the syndrome of deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality.The pathogenesis is that the healthy Qi is deficient and the remaining pathogenic factors are still lingering.Damp-heat and blood stasis are the superficiality of the disease,and deficiency of healthy Qi is the origin of the disease,among which kidney deficiency is the core.Strengthening the healthy Qi and eliminating the pathogenic factors are the general treatment principles of SPID.In the acute exacerbation stage,the treatment is mainly to clear and reduce the lower energizer,as well as remove blood stasis and dredge the collaterals,and the Yishen Qingli Formula is used to treat the disease.In the remission period,tonifying the kidney and regulating the menstrual cycle should be taken to support the healthy energy,supplemented by clearing and reducing,as well as removing the blood stasis.The patients with severe condition are treated with self-made Guanchang Formula,and the curative effect of taking orally and external treatment is remarkable.
