民国时期有关固始县的历史记忆,主要包括灾荒与救灾、匪患与治匪、文化教育与社会风气、军事、经济等方面。灾荒、匪患频发且情况复杂,政府(包括军队)、社会组织是治理这些问题的重要力量。教育方面,分为学校教育与社会教育,社会风气优劣受到教育程度的影响。军事方面,长期受战事侵扰,并付出了巨大代价。经济方面,偏向于传统经济,主要由农业和工商业构成,发展水平不高,其中,交通与通信业取得了一定发展。

The historical memory of Gushi County during the Republic of China period mainly includes aspects such as natural disasters and relief efforts,banditry and anti-banditry measures,cultural education and social customs,military affairs,and economy.Natural disasters and banditry were frequent and complex,and the government(including the army) and social organizations were important forces in addressing these social problems.Education was divided into school education and social education,and the quality of social atmosphere was influenced by the level of education.In terms of military,the county was constantly affected by wars and suffered huge losses.In terms of economy,it was biased towards traditional industries,mainly composed of agriculture and industry,and had a low level of development,with transportation and communication achieving some development.
