In this era,filled with challenges and opportunities,we pay tribute to the illustrious history of our esteemed journal,Biomedical and Environmental Sciences(BES),since its inception.In 1988,amid rapid socioeconomic development,China was taking nascent steps towards reform and opening-up with a heightened emphasis on environmental health hazards and increasing frequency of international academic exchanges.
