Su Shi likes to create cross-genre works on the same topic, that is,to express his views and feelings in different literary forms and from multiple perspectives on the same thing at the same time.Because different styles inherit different traditions and have their own stereotypes, the author's attitude and style in dealing with the topic will inevitably be affected, which has been ignored in the past. So,it is necessary to re-read Su Shi's works in cross-genre according to the time sequence. There is a large number of informal letters(chidu尺),colophon(tiba题跋),and miscellaneous records(zaji杂记)in Su Shi's prose pieces, which is the neglected treasure in his works.Through multiple investigations of the stylistic differences between Su Shi's poetry and his informal prose, this paper probes into the influence of different stylistic genres on the writer's expression of the same event. When we examine how Su Shi treats the same topic or event in different genres,it cannot simply be explained as a writer's penchant for varying the treatment and approach in each new piece. The literary forms themselves,or at least their very nature in the way Su Shi employs them, exert a powerful influence on the treatments that result. The frame of reference changes as Su Shi moves from one form to another and his treatment of the topic with it.
