Objective To investigate the effect of transvaginal cervical cerclage in the treatment of cervical insufficiency and its influence on pregnancy outcome. Methods Seventy patients with cervical insufficiency admitted to the hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 35 patients in each group.Patients in the control group received conservative treatment, and patients in the observation group underwent transvaginal cervical cerclage. Results The survival rate and full-term delivery rate of newborns in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the incidence of preterm delivery and miscarriage was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the gestational weeks of delivery and prolongation of pregnancy were significantly longer than those in the control group(P<0.05);the body mass of the newborns and the Apgar score were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);and the incidence of complication was 2.86%,which was significantly lower than 17.14%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Transvaginal cervical cerclage for the treatment of cervical insufficiency improves neonatal survival, reduces the incidence of adverse events such as preterm labor and miscarriage, prolongs the delivery cycle, improves neonatal body mass and Apgar score, and reduces the incidence of complications.
