Shang Hai became a commercial megalopolis in 1930s.People who lived there enjoyed the material bundance,but they also suffered from the blankness and loneliness brought by material civilization.Especially their morality and sensibility had been overthrown.This thesis tries to indicate this change from the sensibility described in Mu Shiying's works.After denying love,people in his works defied all of the sensibilities.They couldn't get the happiness anticipated.Mu told us by his works:People would be hurt greatly without sensibility.
