Lu Xun is the pioneer of Chinese modern novels and has made great contributions to the modernization of Chinese novels.His work"Regret for the Past"exhibits prominent features of estrangement or defamiliarization,which also showcases the potential for multi-layered interpretations.With the work as the center,this paper analyzes the artistic effect of defamiliarization from the perspectives of language,image,characters,narrative perspective and theme,and finds out more aesthetic value and practical significance behind defamiliarization form.
