近代福州西人教堂建筑文化特质探析

近代以来,随着西方资本主义的涌入,西方传教士纷纷进入福州。一时间,天主教、新教教堂在通商口岸四处林立。这些西人宗教类建筑既有其“西洋风格”式的独特形制特征,也杂糅“中国元素”的地域痕迹标识,同时在中西文化互动影响方面发挥着建筑文化“媒介”作用,其不仅代表着西方宗教信仰精神价值,也代表着中国的思想文化观念。在早期城市现代化的进程中,这些西人宗教建筑作为西方文化价值符号,不仅在建筑物质文化层面掀起中西建筑文化的冲突与融合,而且在社会文化层面也激起了中西社会文化习俗的冲突与融合,对近代福州城市早期现代化产生了一定的影响。

Since modern times,with the influx of Western capitalism,Western missionaries have flocked to Fuzhou,For a time,Catholic and Protestant churches sprang up everywhere in the trading ports.These Western religious buildings not only have their unique architectural features of"Western style"but also mix regional traces of"Chinese elements,"At the same time,they play the role of"mediator"in architectural culture in the interaction and influence of Chinese and Western cultures,They not only represent the spiritual value of Western religious beliefs but also represent Chinese ideological and cultural concepts.in the early process of urban modernization,these Western religious buildings,as symbols of Western cultural values,not only set of conflicts and integrations of Chinese and Western architectural cultures at the material cultural level of architecture,but also stimulate conflicts and integrations of chinese and Western social cultural customs at the social cultural level,exerting a certain influence on the early modernization of Fuzhou city.
