2023年10月16日,国际奥委会通过提议,将起源于北美印第安部落的棍网球设立为2028年洛杉矶奥运会的新增正式比赛项目。棍网球从一项古老的部落球类项目发展为一项时尚的现代体育项目,已然成为民族传统体育项目现代化转型的典范。研究围绕北美印第安人棍网球历史文化流变展开全景式剖析,认为其具有强身健体、思想教化、促进外交和培育产业等功能,探讨北美印第安人棍网球的现代化之路对我国民族传统体育项目的发展具有重要的镜鉴意义。研究指出,北美印第安人棍网球发展的历程涵盖孕育孵化、基础改造、宣传推广和稳步繁荣4个阶段,而价值共识的凝聚、地方精英的参与、社会组织的兴办、学校教育的投入和传播媒介的赋能推动了这项运动的转型发展。面向未来,建议要重视民族传统体育项目的“他者”认同建构、扶持民族传统体育项目的代表性传承人群、培育民族传统体育项目组织的行动能力、完善民族传统体育项目进校园的推进机制和践行民族传统体育项目的跨媒介叙事策略。

On October 16,2023,the International Olympic Committee approved the inclusion of lacrosse,originating from Native American tribes in North America,as an official event for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.Lacrosse,transitioning from an ancient tribal ball game to a trendy modern sport,has become a prime example of the modernization transformation of traditional sports of ethnic minorities worldwide.The study provides a panoramic analysis of the historical and cultural evolution of Native American lacrosse.It highlights the functions of lacrosse in physical fitness,spiritual enlightenment,diplomatic promotion,and industrial cultivation.The exploration of the modernization journey of Native American lacrosse offers significant lessons and insights for the development of traditional sports of ethnic minorities in our country.The study identifies four stages in the development of lacrosse from Native American Indians:incubation and nurturing,foundational transformation,promotion and publicity,and steady prosperity.The transformation and development of this sport have been driven by the cohesion of local elites,the establishment of social organizations,investments in school education,and the empowerment of media dissemination.Looking ahead,it is recommended to focus on the construction of“other”identity in traditional sports of ethnic minorities,support representative inheritors of traditional sports of ethnic minorities,enhance the operational capacity of organizations promoting traditional sports of ethnic minorities,improve mechanisms for integrating into schoolst traditional sports of ethnic minorities,and innovate cross-media narrative strategies for traditional sports of ethnic minorities.
